About Us

About Us

Residents for Community Preservation is a volunteer group of citizen advocates located in Tyrone Township, MI. We were founded out of necessity, in February 2021 in response to a proposed rezoning, that would have forever altered the natural integrity of our community.

We are a non-partisan, Michigan non-profit corporation.

About the President

Sara Dollman-Jersey is a mother to 4 kids, and a large, hairy dog. She is supported in life’s journey by a wonderful husband, Corey.

Sara has a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from MSU. She taught 15 years in elementary classrooms for Haslett Public Schools, and worked at MSU Department of Education as an instructor, new teacher trainer, and grant writer. Her hobbies include gardening, outdoor activities like hiking, nature walks and camping, children’s literature, and family time.

When asked why she and her family moved to Tyrone Township, her response is one commonly heard from other residents: “Our family moved here for excellent schools, a closer route to work, and to enjoy the beautiful rolling hills and lakes.

Leadership to Sara encompasses some very crucial elements; ethical practices, integrity, communication, and transparency.

As she embarks upon her newest role of leading this non-profit, she says, “It’s critical for people to know that RCP works as a conduit through which we share the vision of our residents with our Township leaders, not necessarily our own singular opinions. Our work is to listen and communicate.”

Sara is passionate about doing the right thing, providing service to others, and finding daily gratitude. There’s just one more thing to add, which clearly stems from her latest community volunteerism, “I’m adding civic engagement to my list!“

Volunteers, Businesses, & Community Groups Make an Incredible Difference!

We’d like to thank all of you for the time, effort, knowledge, and passion that has been contributed to our projects. People in this community have been BUSY researching, making calls, sending emails, drafting documents, building websites, asking questions, creating presentations, printing, doing graphic design work, offering CPA guidance, attending meetings, selling signs, distributing flyers, finding experts, spreading the word on FB, having conversations with neighbors, reaching out to media, and SO.MUCH.MORE!

It’s been a truly inspiring grassroots movement toward positive change.

Our Special Thanks to…
