⛈ ☔️
Facts & Forces Event CANCELLED
⛈ ☔️

Saturday weather conditions are calling for rain, wind, and storms blowing through. Although we really want to host our Facts & Forces event, we will have to postpone. Please watch for an announcement soon in which we will share the recorded presentation and resources that we would have shared this Saturday.

=============================

What can I expect at this event?

  • We have reserved indoor space in which small groups can attend a 10-minute presentation with one of our experts, Ted Merciez. Ted’s background is in environmental health and safety. He has been busy communicating with various departments within EGLE, finding data and research on issues affecting ground water, run off, air quality, and more.
(Since this is an indoor presentation, we will follow state guidelines with seating 6 ft apart and keep it short. The venue requires masks indoors. We will run back-to-back presentations for small groups throughout the evening.)

  • Outdoors, we will have tables staffed with volunteers that will include the following:

    • General Information Q&A

    • Donations & Raffle

    • Petition Signing

    • Sign & Sticker Sales

    • What Can I do?

    • Get Connected
(At this table we can help you get Zoom set up on your phone or device. We will also have signups for email updates, and flyers with our contact information.)

Want to tell your story?

We will have the opportunity for 1-2 minute video interview sessions in which residents can express why they love living in this area, and what they are concerned about as it pertains to this proposal for rezone and the asphalt plant. These videos will be shared on our YouTube channel to help raise awareness and give voice to the community for those who want to participate.

This is an open house style event in which you can come anytime between 4 and 7pm that is convenient for you.
You can participate or not participate in any components you wish.

Note: In an effort to meet the varied needs of our community during a pandemic, we will have a thoughtfully structured in-person event to mitigate risk factors. We will also be recording the presentation, and posting information in the “resources” section of our website for anyone who wants access from home.
